KISS-DU Inks MoU with ISTE : Ommtv Round The Clock
The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi on 23rd June 2024. The signing ceremony was followed by the launching of Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Programme at KISS. This momentous occasion was graced by Professor Pratapsinh K. Desai, President of ISTE, Dr. Syed Majid Ali, Executive Secretary, senior functionaries and faculty members from KISS-DU. Another feather was added to KISS’s cap as it became an institutional member of ISTE strengthening its commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
In his welcome address, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera, Vice Chancellor, KISS-DU stressed the need of forming a consortium with the leadership of ISTE and conducting skill building training programmes for the students of the University to strengthen the existing academic initiatives of KISS-DU. Further, he expressed dire need for enhancing and building the skills of both the faculty members and research scholars of the University.
Dr. Syed Majid Ali expressed his appreciation for the achievements of KIIT Group of Institutions and KISS. He shared the key highlights of the syllabi of the B.Voc programme like natural farming, entrepreneurship, renewable and solar energy. Additionally, he underscored the need for organizing capacity building programmes so as to ensure that the faculty members stay updated with the changing trends in their respective fields.
The Chief Guest, Professor Pratapsinh K. Desai, in his address, shed light on the milestones achieved by ISTE, the key areas on which they work, and membership-drive. He discussed case studies, narrated analogies, and shared some of the relevant examples of AI and technology used in our lives. Professor Desai explained at length the requirements of technical education and its global relevance. He laid focus on skilling the youth and their role in nation building. He urged the youth to enhance the global picture of India.
Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS-DU in his deliberation reiterated the highlights of the speeches of the eminent speakers. Dr. Routray said that it is a moment of pride for all of us to have signed an MoU with such a premier institution which was established in 1941. He also proposed words of thanks to the erudite speakers and those who contributed in making this event a huge success.
