The Mobile Connections to Promote Women’s Economic Development (Mpowered) Scale-Up Project, implemented by Trickle Up India Foundation (TUIF) in partnership with Tata Communications Limited, successfully concluded its State-Level Dissemination Workshop in Bhubaneswar on 18 March 2026.

The workshop aimed to celebrate the success of the Mpowered Scale-Up Project and reflect on key learnings to strengthen sustainable, women-led enterprises. The project has been implemented through grassroots partners—Jagruti, Nirman, and Shakti in Odisha, and Gram Sathi and Chetna Vikas in Jharkhand.

The event brought together stakeholders from government, private sector, financial institutions, and civil society, with the participation of several leading development organisations, to discuss gender-responsive market systems for rural women entrepreneurs.

The programme featured a welcome address by Ms. Purna Roy Chowdhury, Chief Program Officer, TUIF, and a keynote by Ms. Pallavi Barua, Director & Global Head – CSR, Tata Communications Limited.

The event was marked by the presence of Mr. Sushant Verma, Director, Trickle Up India Foundation, along with distinguished speakers including Ms. Pallavi Barua (Tata Communications), Shri Jagadananda J (CYSD), Mr. Tara Prasad Tripathy (PRADAN), and Mr. Niranjan Bhuyan (NABARD Odisha).

A key highlight was the release of the Impact Evaluation Report, showcasing the project’s contribution to enhancing women’s economic agency, enterprise development, and market access.

Through panel discussions and experience-sharing by women participants and Smart Sakhis, the workshop highlighted the importance of collectives, digital inclusion, institutional support, and private sector engagement in building sustainable enterprises.

The event concluded with a strong call for advancing inclusive and gender-responsive market ecosystems to support women entrepreneurs at scale.
