National Terminology Meetings Begin at KIIT, KISS

to Promote Indian Languages in Higher Education

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 3: Six parallel national terminology meetings, organised by the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology (CSTT), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, commenced at KIIT and KISS Universities today. The five-day programme, running till August 7, aims to accelerate the development and standardisation of scientific and technical terminology in Indian languages in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.More than 100 subject and language experts from universities and research institutions across Odisha are participating in the meetings, which are expected to prepare and finalise standardised terminology resources for higher education, research and governance in Indian languages. Addressing the inaugural session, Er. J. S. Rawat, Assistant Director, CSTT, said the meetings is an important step towards implementing NEP 2020 by enabling quality higher and technical education through Indian languages. He said standardised terminology is essential for teaching, learning, research, translation, innovation and knowledge dissemination. He informed that expert committees would review and develop thousands of Odia technical terms in Electronics, Broadcast, Telecommunication, Economics, Commerce and Political Science during the five-day deliberations.Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT, said the National Education Policy has created new opportunities for delivering quality education through Indian languages. He said that standardised technical terminology is vital for research, innovation and inclusive education, and assured KIIT’s continued support for initiatives that strengthen higher education in Indian languages.

Prof. J R Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT, said collaboration between academic institutions and national organisations such as CSTT plays a crucial role in strengthening India’s knowledge ecosystem. He expressed confidence that the discussions would produce valuable terminology resources for students, teachers, researchers and professionals.Dr. Prashant Kumar Routray, Registrar, KISS said promoting education in Indian languages is essential for ensuring inclusive and equitable access to knowledge. He reaffirmed KISS’s commitment to supporting initiatives that encourage multilingual education and wider dissemination of knowledge.Earlier, Prof. Benu Gopal Mahapatra, Professor and Director (CS), KIIT, and Chief Coordinator of the meetings, highlighted the long-standing collaboration between CSTT and KIIT-KISS.

ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱର: ଶିକ୍ଷା ମନ୍ତ୍ରାଳୟ ଅଧୀନସ୍ଥ ଉଚ୍ଚଶିକ୍ଷା ବିଭାଗ ବୈଜ୍ଞାନିକ ଏବଂ ବୈଷୟିକ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀ ଆୟୋଗ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ସୋମବାର କିଟ ଓ କିସରେ ଛଅଟି ସମାନ୍ତରାଳ ଜାତୀୟ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ବୈଠକ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଛି। ୭ ତାରିଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଚାଲିବାକୁ ଥିବା ଏହି ପାଞ୍ଚଦିନିଆ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମର ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ଜାତୀୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା ନୀତି–୨୦୨୦ ଅନୁରୂପ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ବୈଜ୍ଞାନିକ ଓ ବୈଷୟିକ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀର ବିକାଶ ଓ ମାନକୀକରଣ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟାକୁ ତ୍ୱରାନ୍ୱିତ କରିବା।ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ବିଶ୍ୱବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ଏବଂ ଗବେଷଣା ଅନୁଷ୍ଠାନର ୧୦୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଭାଷା ବିଶେଷଜ୍ଞ ଏହି ବୈଠକଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ଅଂଶଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଉଚ୍ଚଶିକ୍ଷା, ଗବେଷଣା ଏବଂ ପ୍ରଶାସନ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାର ବ୍ୟବହାରକୁ ସୁଦୃଢ଼ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ମାନକୀକୃତ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଓ ଚୂଡ଼ାନ୍ତ କରିବା ଏହି ବୈଠକର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟ।ଉଦ୍‌ଘାଟନୀ ଅଧିବେଶନକୁ ସମ୍ବୋଧିତ କରି ସିଏସ୍‌ଟିଟି ର ସହକାରୀ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ ଇଂ. ଜେ. ଏସ୍. ରାୱତ କହିଲେ, ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷା ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଗୁଣାତ୍ମକ ଉଚ୍ଚ ଓ ବୈଷୟିକ ଶିକ୍ଷାକୁ ସୁନିଶ୍ଚିତ କରି ଜାତୀୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା ନୀତି–୨୦୨୦ର ସଫଳ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରିତା ଦିଗରେ ଏହି ବୈଠକ ଏକ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପଦକ୍ଷେପ। ସେ କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ, ଶିକ୍ଷାଦାନ, ଅଧ୍ୟୟନ, ଗବେଷଣା, ଅନୁବାଦ, ନବସୃଜନ ଏବଂ ଜ୍ଞାନର ପ୍ରସାର ପାଇଁ ମାନକୀକୃତ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ। ପାଞ୍ଚଦିନିଆ ଆଲୋଚନାଚକ୍ର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଶେଷଜ୍ଞ କମିଟିଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଇଲେକ୍ଟ୍ରୋନିକ୍ସ, ପ୍ରସାରଣ, ଦୂରସଞ୍ଚାର, ଅର୍ଥନୀତି, ବାଣିଜ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ରାଜନୀତି ବିଜ୍ଞାନ ବିଷୟରେ ହଜାର ହଜାର ଓଡ଼ିଆ ବୈଷୟିକ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦର ସମୀକ୍ଷା କରି ସେଗୁଡ଼ିକର ବିକାଶ ଓ ମାନକୀକରଣ କରିବେ ବୋଲି ସେ ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଥିଲେ।କିଟ୍ ବିଶ୍ୱବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର କୁଳପତି ପ୍ରଫେସର ଶରଣଜିତ ସିଂହ କହିଲେ, ଜାତୀୟ ଶିକ୍ଷା ନୀତି–୨୦୨୦ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷା ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଗୁଣାତ୍ମକ ଶିକ୍ଷା ପ୍ରଦାନ ପାଇଁ ନୂତନ ସୁଯୋଗ ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିଛି। ଗବେଷଣା, ନବସୃଜନ ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତିମୂଳକ ଶିକ୍ଷା ପାଇଁ ମାନକୀକୃତ ବୈଷୟିକ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଜରୁରୀ। ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାରେ ଉଚ୍ଚଶିକ୍ଷାକୁ ସୁଦୃଢ଼ କରିବା ଲକ୍ଷ୍ୟରେ ଏଭଳି ପଦକ୍ଷେପ ପାଇଁ କିଟ୍‌ର ନିରନ୍ତର ସହଯୋଗ ରହିବ ବୋଲି ସେ ଆଶ୍ୱାସନ ଦେଇଥିଲେ।ଏହି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମରେ କିଟ ବିଶ୍ବବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ କୁଳସଚିବ ପ୍ରଫେସର ଜ୍ଞାନ ରଞ୍ଜନ ମହାନ୍ତି, କିସ୍‌ ବିଶ୍ବବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ ଡ. ପ୍ରଶାନ୍ତ କୁମାର ରାଉତରାୟ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ଉଚ୍ଚଶିକ୍ଷାରେ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭାଷାର ପ୍ରୋତ୍ସାହନ ଓ ବୈଷୟିକ ପାରିଭାଷିକ ଶବ୍ଦାବଳୀ ଆଲୋକପାତ କରିଥିବାବେଳେ କିଟ୍‌ କମ୍ପ୍ୟୁଟର ସାଇନ୍ସ ବିଭାଗର ପ୍ରଫେସର ଏବଂ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ ତଥା ଏହି ବୈଠକର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ସଂଯୋଜକ ପ୍ରଫେସର ବେଣୁ ଗୋପାଳ ମହାପାତ୍ର ସିଏସ୍‌ଟିଟି ଏବଂ କିଟ୍–କିସ୍‌ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଦୀର୍ଘଦିନ ଧରି ରହିଥିବା ସହଯୋଗୀ ସମ୍ପର୍କ ଉପରେ କହିଥିଲେ।
