KIIT NSS Bureau Organises Seminar on, 'Mera Pehla Vote - Desh Ke Liye' : Ommtv.in 

NSS Bureau of KIIT Deemed to be University organized a seminar on Mera Pehla Vote - Desh Ke Liye under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India on 5th March 2024. Mr. Manas Ranjan Mishra, a trainer and documentation specialist, formerly associate with Action Aid and UNDP, joined as keynote speaker in the seminar and delivered a talk titled, “Young Voters, How India’s Democracy Surprised the World?” to the NSS volunteers.Tracing the history of democracy from the ancient time to its present form, Mr. Mishra asserted that India is one of best models of democracy. He not only discussed a few policy perspectives on adult franchise but also motivated youth to vote for the right candidate, who will be a catalyst for social change and development.The seminar was chaired by Prof Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator of KIIT NSS Bureau. Prof Parashar welcomed the keynote speaker and felicitated him. Mr. Chiranjivi Joshi, the student coordinator of KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering was also felicitated by Prof. Parashar for his immense contribution at Bureau level. In her address, Prof. Parashar advised volunteers to have their role models like Dr. Achyuta Samanta, who is a philanthropist turned politician, and has brought many development and social changes in his constituency.After keynote address, all the NSS volunteers took the voters’ pledge. Dr Bidu Bhusan Dash, Programme Officer of KIIT School of Mass Communication NSS Unit proposed the vote of thanks at the end. In this seminar, many professors and programme officers were also present.KIIT NSS Bureau also organized some other events such as rally, poster making competition and reel making competition to create awareness on the value of the vote among the students as well as public.
