Devotional music offers to Shri Jagannath on the
concluding evening of the 'Guhari' festival
Bhubaneswar, 6th April, 2022 (OMM)- Today was the concluding evening of the
Shree Jagannath's Devotional Music Festival ‘Guhari’ presented by the
Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture and organized by
Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Center at Bhanja Kala
Mandap, Bhubaneswar.
Guide to the liberation of the Shree Jagannath temple of Puri, this temple is
a wonderful mysterious temple. The sanctum, facade, bhog mandapa, natya
mandapa and bije mandapa of the temple, which is made up of Khandalite
stones, are the most invulnerable in the face of unparalleled beauty. The
four gates are world-famous as East-Lion (Religion), West-Tiger (Work),
North-Money (Elephant), South-Horse (Mokshya).
The first vocalist of the concluding evening was Rabindra Nath Mishra, who
first sang Nauri kari de pari followed by Bada danda dhuli udei udei
nadighosha gadija re in his melodious voice. Next vocalist was Adyasha Das
she sang Kala kala chakadola ghana kala badana and Aakash dise ki
sundara. The next singer was Sukant Kumar Kundu, who performed Jibana
bandhu janichha tumbha katha and Nilachale Lagichhi lila. Next singer was
Sangeeta Mishra she sang Jaga kaliare dhana malia re and Hay krushna
hay krushna. Next singer was Asha Mukul Barik, who enchanted the
audience with her singing. Sudhakar Mishra later sang Adha gadha diankara
dekha chaka aakhiku and Shree madira thare jiea jaini. Lastly Antra
Chakraborty and Basanta Patra performing music on Jagannatha, creating a
devotional atmosphere in the auditorium before the audiences. They were
accompanied by Dusmanta Kumar Parida on tabla, Abnikant Das on drums,
Jawahar Mishra on flute, Priya Ranjan Mohanty on octopad, Narendra
Kumar Mohapatra on keyboard and Bhavatosh Mohanty on guitar.
In the concluding evening lighting of the lamp was made by Guru Aruna
Mohanty, President, Odisha Sangita Nataka Akademi; Manaswani Sahoo,
Additional Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture in presence of
Shri Ranjan Kumar Das, Director, Department of Odia Language, Literature
and Culture; Shri Prabodh Rath, Secretary, Odisha Sangeet Natak Akademi,
and Shri Subodh Chandra Acharya, Chief Executive Officer, GKCM Odissi
Research Center. The program was moderated by Dr. Mrutyunjaya Rath.
