State forest and environment minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia was the chief guest at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Eklavya Model Residential School at Jamda near Jashipur. Minister Khuntia highly appreciated the special campaign of 'Samvad' for protection of environment 'Punsad Prithvi'. It will have a far-reaching impact in the coming days. The foundation stone was formally laid by the Minister in the presence of Jai Badam Changu dance troupe of Matiagarh village and hundreds of women of the village. In the programme organized under the aegis of Karanjia Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Assistant Engineer Pitambar Roy gave information about the road construction project. Minister Khuntia said that former Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu has contributed in the establishment of this school. The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Khiching in the next two months. During this time, the attention of the Chief Minister will be drawn towards the welfare of the people of the region. Banua, Assistant Executive Engineer Santosh Naik, Karanjia Block DF and Shrikant Naik were among the guests. It is to be noted that the new road is intended to connect the school with the road leading from Jashipur to Nebda. A sum of Rs. 2.41 crore has been provided for the construction of 1300 meters of concrete roads.
