Elephants at BBSR Sikharchandi : Ommtv
Elephant news
OMM TV : Bhatarpur and from there straight Sikharchandi hills. Wild elephants have made such a unique way. After a gap of few days, elephants are heading towards Sikharchandi again. Just two of them this time. While 4 elephants had come to Sikharchandi last week, only two female elephants have come near Sikharchandhi Hanuman hill and went back to Chandaka sanctuary from early morning through Bharatpur forest. Elephants are expected to have emerged from the two forests to eat vegetables and paddy fields in dark, rocky areas, forest department reports. It is one way assumed that elephants won't come here as there are no shabby trees or green leaves in the hills of Shikharchandi. On the other hand they prefer to stay in the woods with no water sports or drinking water since there is no reservoir crossing the sanctuary. Forest officials have expressed their opinion that even if they come, it is safe to go back to the forest without having a big tree to hide in the sun. Two days ago an elephant went to Nandankanan elephant sanctuary. Chandaka again went to the zoo as there was no facility to enter from there. On the other hand, the people of Ganeshghat Colony which is attached to Bharatpur forest are in panic situation. They are not transporting into the colony through Chunkoli slum road for the past two weeks. Kis is contacting the colony by walking about 10 kilometers by giving the stone cart road. So, the locals have requested the forest department to dig a train on the way to Hati Shikharchandi. Since Bharatpur sanctuary trains are buried, elephants are coming from Chandaka to Shikharchandi via Elephant walkway and return again in the morning. At this time, if pastures, houses, trees are seen in front of them, they have broken them. If an animal comes in front of him, he will kill him with a rod. #elephant #chandaka #Nandankanan #OmmTv #OmTV #NBPC #KalingaCineArts #Bhubaneswar
